Ballantynes Mall

Project Description

After a devastating 2011 Christchurch Earthquake, the Ballantynes Department Store required extensive repairs.

Requirement and specifications

Zone worked with Holmes Fire and Safety to provide the required 60 minute fire rating on the structural steel of the Ballantynes Department Store. Phoenix Intumescent was specified and applied by CTM Coatings Ltd. Along with the necessary repairs caused by the earthquake, a general "freshen up" of the department store took place. Bobrick Bathroom Ware was utilized in the bathrooms throughout the store to aid in the process.

Ballantynes was brought up to the current building code standards, the structural steel fire ratings were achieved and the overall look of the department store received a well-deserved update.
